Premium traveler publication, Global Traveler, announced the winners of the Outstanding Diversity & Inclusion in Travel award, now in its third year.
The award is given each year to an airline, hotel and cruise line and is part of the brand’s GT Tested Reader Survey.
United Airlines won the airline Outstanding Diversity & Inclusion in Travel award for the second year in a row. The cruise award went to Norwegian Cruise Line for its commitment to maintaining an inclusive work environment.
Preferred Hotel Group won the hotel segment of the award, gaining notice for its PreferredPride.com website, which offers members of the LGBTQIA+ community the opportunity to find vetted-friendly accommodations within the hotel group’s portfolio.
"Companies in the travel industry are charged with the important task of representing the world, and that starts with putting diversity, equity and inclusion at the forefront," said Francis X. Gallagher, publisher and CEO, Global Traveler. "Travel allows us to learn about, appreciate and understand other peoples and cultures, and United Airlines, Preferred Hotel Group and Norwegian Cruise Line strive toward those ideals daily. We will continue to applaud those aiming for true equity in the industry. Congratulations!"
Global Travel staff and its Advisory Board nominate the travel companies each year, with input from the Globility Board subscriber group. Information considered includes diversity policies, workforce, corporate culture, charitable giving, independent research and more.
The winners will be celebrated on December 13 at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena.
