JetBlue officially began its new direct service between New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Belize City's Philip S. Goldson International Airport (BZE) on Wednesday.
The new route will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, with one flight heading in each direction. The airline will fly the route using its Airbus A320 aircraft.
JetBlue is currently the only airline offering a nonstop route between the two airports.
For a limited time, travelers can enjoy special one-way fares for flights between JFK and BZE for $119 on JetBlue’s website.
“We’re thrilled to add Belize to our growing network and offer our customers more choices to experience unique and popular destinations,” said David Jehn, vice president, network planning and airline partnerships, JetBlue. “Adding nonstop service to Belize enhances our presence in Latin America and the Caribbean and demonstrates our commitment to introducing our low fares and great service to more destinations and customers.”
JetBlue’s mission this year has been to expand into more international destinations.
In August, it launched a route between JFK and Amsterdam; in September, it announced it would add two new nonstop flights between JFK and Curaçao beginning in 2024; and in November alone, the airline launched two new nonstop routes, one between Los Angeles to Nassau in The Bahamas, and the other between JFK and the island of Nevis.
