American Airlines announced plans to offer more flights than
any other carrier in the United States to the white-sand beaches, impressive
archaeological sites and vibrant culture of Cancun, Mexico.
With 40 peak-day flights this winter to help travelers
escape the cold-weather blues, American
provides plenty of options for customers to take in all that Cancun and the Riviera
Maya offer.
Starting on December 9, the airline will launch new nonstop
flights to Cancun from Cincinnati, Nashville, Tennessee, and Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. The additional service grows the carrier’s winter network to 18
nonstop routes to Cancun from around the U.S.
As the largest U.S. airline serving the Yucatan, American
will also operate six peak-day flights to Cozumel and two daily flights to
Merida this winter, offering customers the most convenient schedule to plan a
winter getaway.
Starting on March 28, American will also launch four daily
nonstop flights to Tulum, Mexico, adding more nonstop service to the region.
As travelers prepare for the winter holiday period, American
is revolutionizing post-landing procedures with its cutting-edge Smart
Gating system. The technology minimizes the amount of time just-landed
planes spend taxiing and waiting for gates to free up, reduces ramp congestion
and helps aircraft get to gates faster.
