If you want to go to Florida this winter, you should have no problem booking a flight on United Airlines.

United has increased its service to the Sunshine State.

In fact, the carrier is boasting that it offers more flights than it ever has to Florida.

It is doing so by increasing its service to Florida by more than 20 percent, and utilizing larger planes with more seating capacity. The airline will operate its hub system if there are no direct flights from where you are, including Chicago, Washington, Houston, and Newark.

And for those customers who prefer snow over sand, the airline remains the nation’s largest carrier to popular ski destinations, with direct flights this winter to 11 different winter sports hubs, including Jackson Hole, Vail and Big Sky.

But Florida is where the heat is.

According to United’s research, Miami and Orlando are two of the top five most-searched destinations. Honolulu, Cancun and Las Vegas round out the top five most-searched destinations from November 1 to March 31.

United will fly to virtually every major destination in Florida, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Key West, Tampa and Fort Myers, among others.

"We know that November is when most people start their winter travel planning so we're adding these flights to give customers more options than ever," said Mark Weithofer, United's Managing Director of Domestic Network Planning. "We've already begun to see record-breaking demand for winter travel and whether customers are looking to unwind on the beach or hit the slopes, United is the clear choice for those planning their getaways."

Tickets are on sale now. Check with United for the best prices and options from your departure city.

Increasing the number of flights to Florida is part of United’s growth plan, including possibly relocating its headquarters from Chicago to Denver.
