Florida is known as the Sunshine State, and boy does it deliver! The weather is pleasant year-round, with summer offering endless warm days, giving you more than enough time to explore to your heart’s content!

Visit beaches and theme parks, and eat some incredible food on your trip to Florida. We’re here to help you make the best of it with this Florida travel guide.

If you have a valid driver’s license, we’d suggest renting a car to get around. If you can’t legally drive in the area though, there are loads of options for you.

The Florida bus service is reliable, and there are companies that offer regular trips to and from popular tourist destinations. This includes fan favorites like Orlando, Miami, and West Palm Beach.

If you’re not a fan of buses, you also have the option of trains, shuttles, and e-hailing a cab.

Important Things To Know

Currency

Florida uses the US dollar, making traveling there super easy for Americans.

If you’re from elsewhere, your credit card should work fine provided it's a major provider such as Visa or Mastercard. No need to worry about carrying cash around, as almost all places accept card payments.

Our suggestion is to experience the Sunshine State in the sunniest months of the year. This way, you can be sure to experience the beaches without worrying about rain.

The summer months are between June and August. September is also a great month to visit. If you prefer a quieter vacation, this might be the best bet for you. The tourist traffic has usually calmed down by this point.

We would suggest avoiding Florida over Spring break. It’s a popular destination for students looking to party, so plan your vacation around it for the best chance at a peaceful vacation.

Orlando is home to the famous Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, some of the most exciting bucket-list items you’ll find in Florida. From theme parks to swimming with dolphins, Orlando has so much to offer.

Our last suggestion is Key West, which is known for its laid-back locals and beachside resorts. This area offers some beautiful coral reefs, making it the perfect place if you enjoy scuba diving and snorkeling.
